歐盟法院上周裁定搜尋引擎必須執行用戶「被遺忘的權利」，亦即搜尋引擎用戶有權利要求「有關他們的不充分、無關係、不再有關係，或過度的資訊，不被列入搜尋結果」，本月1日的資料顯示，Google上周五推出滿足此一需求的機制，就有1萬2000人次要求Google為他們隱藏過去，相當於每6秒一次。根據預測，提出這項要求的，將有相當大多數是被定過罪的人，他們希望過去的不良紀錄不要被雇主、客戶或他們交往的人知道。
