海外青年下鄉 散播英語種子

〔自由時報記者廖淑玲／虎尾報導〕海外華裔青年英語服務營昨天在虎尾崇德國中聯合開幕，隨即在崇德、馬光、崙背三所國中、中和、東興及東榮三所國小開課，教導偏鄉學童英語，培養聽說讀寫能力及國際觀。

華裔海外青年英語服務營今年由雲林縣主辦，昨天起至本月二十五日展開英語教學活動，開幕式由崇德國中節令鼓隊敲鑼打鼓，歡迎四十四名來自海外的大哥哥、大姊姊。

此次海外華裔志工分別來自美國、加拿大、澳洲、紐西蘭、英國等國家，縣府教育處學管科長林慧蓉、崇德國中校長林秀娟代表感謝他們播下英語種子，以活潑、有趣、生動的教學方式，啟發偏鄉孩子學習英語興趣，拓展學生視野。

另為了讓華裔青年志工能融入台灣的生活及教學環境，擴大學習成效，主辦單位特別邀請國內各大專院校外語系學生，擔任營隊活動的服務志工，協助華裔青年教學及適應生活，並介紹台灣文化，更帶領偏鄉學童度過充實暑假。
