美國有線電視新聞網報導，西班牙警方12日宣布，一名有錢的黎巴嫩市長今年1月在西班牙被捕，因為據說他打算支付5萬5000美元（約台幣167萬元）給幾個貧民，以取得他移植肝臟所需的肝組織。

西班牙當局說，這是該國首次查獲的人體器官非法買賣案件。

警方未透露這名黎巴嫩市長的名字，只說他61歲，1月30日在西班牙瓦倫西亞的馬尼塞斯機場被捕，目前在交出護照後交保，留在西班牙等候出庭。同時被捕的還有共犯4人，包括3名黎巴嫩人及1名巴勒斯坦人。
