【時報-記者柯婉琇綜合外電報導】彭博報導，消息人士透露，網路安全軟體業者賽門鐵克（Symantec）考慮分拆旗下事業，跟進其他大型科技公司的腳步，讓業務變得更集中、更靈活。

知情人士表示，賽門鐵克將旗下業務分割為兩個事業體的計畫，已經進入後期協商，各自獨立的兩家公司其一將負責銷售安全軟體，另一家打理資料儲存業務。賽門鐵克可能在未來幾周宣布這項消息。

賽門鐵克發言人拒絕對此報導置評。

若賽門鐵克最後決定分拆公司，將為近來矽谷科技公司的「分家」潮流再添一例。eBay上月底宣布，明年底前Paypal數位支付與網路市集兩大事業，將分拆成為兩家獨立公司。本周初PC大廠惠普宣布公司將一分為二，一家負責PC與列印事業，另一家聚焦於企業硬體與服務事業。
