挽救餐會 把「垃圾」變美食

一般家庭會丟掉的擦傷蘋果、枯萎香菜、發霉葡萄,美國紐約曼哈坦的楚哈夫特,卻利用這些「垃圾」做宴席。

「華爾街日報」報導,剛拿到社會創新設計碩士的楚哈夫特,已舉辦7場「挽救餐會」,讓食客在乾淨的大垃圾箱裡,享用被扔掉食物烹製的美食。

餐的為每人「挽救」平均約4公斤準備送到垃圾掩埋場的食物。楚哈夫特說,這些揀回來的食物,安全無虞,也很有營養。

16名食客21日踏進大垃圾箱,坐在木板架起來的長條桌旁,享用6道菜餐點,菜色有小甜菜、茄子泥、醃西瓜皮、蔬菜派、番茄湯及桃子薄荷冰淇淋,他們覺得雖有點清淡,但相當不錯。

農業部表示,美國有31%的食物浪費掉,楚哈夫特希望把挽救餐會概念推行到全美,杜絕浪費和減少垃圾。
