隨著「豪小子」林書豪突破背傷陰霾逐漸回溫，NBA官網記者布林伯利撰文稱讚林書豪重新點燃火箭，更引用火箭總教練麥克海爾說法，「我告訴他放鬆打球，當個他能做到的球員，火箭不需要『林來瘋』！」

回顧全明星賽後的前8戰，背傷影響正常發揮的林書豪，投籃命中率僅2成9（投55中16），平均只拿6.3分，失誤更達2.6次，卻在最近3場宣告復活，投28中14，場均15分、2助攻。

「假如你問我重新找回狀態是否感覺很棒，沒錯！」林書豪說：「我感覺好極了。」麥克海爾重申，火箭當然需要林書豪，因為他能帶來不少事情，讓火箭戰術更靈活多變，且給對手更多壓力。

不過一如往昔，喜歡幫林書豪找新東家的美媒，又開始放出交易傳言。《國際商業時報》記者阿基拉相信，火箭會想辦法交易下季薪資高達1500萬美金的林書豪，最可能「落點」將在湖人、塞爾提克或暴龍。
