【時報-外電報導】日本汽車製造商豐田汽車（Toyota）周三表示，計畫於明年3月底在日本正式開賣首款燃料電池車，售價為700萬日圓，並在隨後的同年夏季陸續在美國及歐洲推出銷售。

豐田自1996年起展開燃料電池車的開發，並於1997年推出結合汽油引擎及燃料電池的混合電力車Prius，為全球首款大規模生產的混合動力車。豐田此次計畫推出的燃料電池車，動力來源為氫與氧的化學作用，與需要靠發電廠電力充電的全電動車相比，完全沒有排放問題，且能迅速補充燃料。

不過，燃料電池車最大的隱憂在於研發及基建成本高昂，如何建設大量的商業氫補給站，目前仍是問題。
