六天前遭紅襪釋出的明星球員Grady Sizemore，確定與費城人簽下一紙小聯盟合約，預計本週五到3A報到。

這位兩屆金手套獎的外野手，自2004年效力於印地安人，在2011年因膝傷沉寂2年，直到今年，Sizemore在紅襪重新出發。

31歲的Sizemore本季出賽52場，打擊三圍.216/.288/.324（打擊率／上壘率／長打率），他在春訓期間讓球團大開眼界，並在開幕賽以全壘打宣告強勢回歸，開賽10場比賽下來，Sizemore有5場比賽繳出2支安打以上，打擊三圍十分亮眼（.343/.395/.571）。

不過，Sizemore之後的打擊表現不佳，在近42場出賽，Sizemore打擊三圍降至 .187/.263/.267，6月份更是慘不忍睹，30個打數中，僅繳出4支安打，包含一支二壘安打，和8次三振，基於這個狀況，紅襪決定釋出Sizemore。

然而，天無絕人之路，一支外野人手貧瘠的球隊，可是相當樂意伸出援手，幫助想要東山再起的球員，大都會經理Ruben Amaro Jr.說：「我想一個球員要找回在球場的感覺，要花很多時間的，絕對比一般人預期來得長，我知道紅襪給了Sizemore機會，某些程度上，他的確成功了，也的確面臨一些困難，我們相信他會有所作為，看看他在左外野的表現。」

Sizemore預計在3A擔任中外野手，不過，球團不排除讓他守左、右外野，Amaro說：「還無法知道他的速度是否和以前一樣，不過Sizemore還是很穩定，說真的，對我來說，這是無風險，高報酬的情況，我們就是希望加強外野守備能力。」
