世界盃足球賽D組哥斯大黎加與英格蘭的對戰，哥斯大黎加進攻上雖未能進球，但成功守住英格蘭攻勢，以0比0逼和英格蘭，成功闖進16強。

這場比賽的上半場，兩隊進攻機會都不多，也都未能成功破網，上半場以0比0踢和。

下半場雙方依舊僵持不下，整場比賽兩隊皆未進球，最終以0比0戰成平手，這場比賽之後，哥斯大黎加在小組賽拿下2勝1和的戰績排名第1，以黑馬之姿闖進16強。
