根據市場研究公司 IHS 公布的拆解報告，南韓手機業巨頭三星 (Samsung)(005930-KR) 上週五開賣的新一代旗艦智慧手機 Galaxy S5，每支製造成本較前一代旗艦手機高，但兩款啟售價卻相同。反映出市場牟利難度越來越高。

IHS 拆解分析結果顯示，儲存容量 32GB 版本的 Galaxy S5 每支所需生產成本「高達」256.52 美元，相較於 Galaxy S4 每支成本僅 236 美元，對手蘋果 (Apple)(AAPL-US) 的 iPhone 5S 更僅 207 美元。而 S5 及 S4 每支零售價格皆為 600 美元。

IHS 分析師 Andrew Rassweiler 在聲明中指出，Galaxy S5 製造成本提高，顯示三星「朝向更高端的成本光譜前進」。然而他們卻也發現，S5 與 S4 相較內部零件並無太大升級，大致上重複使用了不少之前用過的零件，並無驚喜。

IHS 發現 S5 最貴的零件是顯示器，占了 63 美元；DRAM 及快閃記憶體合計占了 33 美元。新增的指紋辨識感測功能零件竟只要 4 美元，與低於蘋果 iPhone 5S 的 Touch ID 指紋辨識感測器成本 15 美元。

IHS 無線通訊事務高級分析師 Wayne Lam 接受《CNBC》訪問時則表示，三星將更多零件塞入 S5，因為他們知道高階智慧手機市場的競爭會非常激烈，想要凸顯自身。「他們真的同時要對抗蘋果及其他 Android 系統手機，所以增加更多新功能，藉由創新來提高競爭能力。」
