仁川亞運台灣桌球最終希望，「桌球小子」莊智淵男單準決賽以0：4不敵中國大陸樊振東，拿到銅牌，為本屆的台灣代表團劃下句點。

面對年僅17歲的世界No.2，莊智淵幾乎整場都能咬住對手，但總是欠缺臨門一腳，8：11、9：11、8：11、7：11落敗。

另一場四強賽，地主選手「天下第一削」朱世赫即使擁有千名球迷加油助威，仍被中國大陸許昕「橫掃」，與莊智淵並列銅牌。
