與恐怖組織同名 電信服務商Isis改名

由美國三大電信營運商AT&T、T-Mobile與威瑞森無線（Verizon Wireless）在2010年成立、以推廣行動支付服務的集團Isis，因公司名稱與遜尼派極端分子武裝組織ISIS（現稱伊斯蘭國，IS）名字相同，飽受同名之累，3日宣布更改品牌名稱為Sofcard，同時更改其智慧手機應用程式軟體名稱。

Isis集團此舉明顯是要與中東的伊斯蘭武裝組織ISIS有所區隔。在集團宣布改名的前一天，ISIS才再度斬首一名美國記者。

Isis執行長艾伯特3日表示：「雖然是個巧合，但我們不想和這個集團同名，我們對那些受這股暴力影響的人深感同情。」

不過品牌名稱並非是Softcard的唯一問題。雖然這項服務已推出數年，但仍無法獲得消費者青睞。許多Android裝置並未具有要使要這項服務所需要的近距離無線通訊硬體裝置，而且Isis與Google等其他提供行動電子錢包的公司也還無法說服消費者，使用電子支付會比付現或使用信用卡更方便。
