韓聯社18日引述產業消息人士報導，三星電子(Samsung Electronics Co.)行動部門高層已將25%的上半年紅利歸還給公司、因部門第2季表現疲弱不振，逾100名高階主管預估合計歸還30億韓圜的績效獎金。

三星預計在7月31日公佈2014年4-6月財報。三星7月8日公佈的初估財報顯示，營益年減24%至7.2兆韓圜、連續第3個季度呈現年減。2013年第4季、2014年第1季三星營益分別年減6%、3.3%。

三星電子8日發布新聞稿表示，2014年4-6月旗下中低階智慧型手機庫存攀高，主要是受到中國以及部份歐洲市場競爭加劇、整體智慧機市場成長趨緩的影響。

英國電訊報16日報導，Kantar Worldpanel ComTech的統計顯示，今年5月蘋果(Apple Inc.)iPhone 5c、5s分別拿下英國11.1%、11.0%的銷售量市佔率，贏過三星Galaxy S5(見圖)的9%。

Counterpoint的統計也顯示，3月底才推出的Galaxy S5 5月全球銷售量約500萬支、遜於iPhone 5s的700萬支。Counterpoint分析師Tom Kang指出，Galaxy S5 6月銷售量預估將持平於500萬支水準。他指出，S5的螢幕顯示效果以及塑膠機殼令買家失望。

三星Galaxy S5 Full HD(1920x1080像素)每英吋螢幕像素(ppi)僅有432 ppi、遜於LG G3(螢幕解析度為2,560 x 1,440畫素)的538ppi。
