港末代總督：中國白皮書損香港司法獨立

香港末代總督彭定康指責中國損害香港作為全球金融中心的司法獨立。彭定康在接受英國《金融時報》訪問時說：「在(香港的)法治制度下，法官是獨立的，不應被質疑受到指示或因某些政治考量，而被逼放棄對程序公義和合法的看法。」

香港《蘋果》指出，彭定康自香港回歸中國後，一直避免評論香港事務，但中國國務院日前發表一國兩制白皮書，指法官應該「愛國」，讓他不得不表達自己的看法。英國外交部拒絕評論彭定康的訪問和司法獨立的問題，但重申英國政府立場，歡迎香港行政長官由普選產生。（施旖婕／綜合外電報導）
