根據12日公布的一項研究顯示，美國企業執行長(CEO)拿到的薪資，在過去35年來激增了將近10倍，在2013年的平均值為1,520萬美元。
根據無黨派經濟政策協會(Nonpartisan Economic Policy Institute，EPI)公布的報告，CEO包括紅利和股票選擇權在內的全數給付，自從1978年開始躍升了937%。
執行長薪資對勞工平均所得的比例，也從1978年的29.9比1大幅升高到2013年的295.9比1。
報告中說，部份美國人的經濟正在復甦中，但不是大部份的人。那些位於收入頂端的人，包括許多執行長在內，他們的收入出現強力復甦；在此同時，勞工的平均所得，仍因停滯的勞工市場而承受不利的影響。
