國寶級蒸汽火車現身 民眾搶搭

（中央社記者李先鳳花蓮縣2014年6月8日電）台鐵花蓮站慶祝台鐵127週年，高齡84歲的國寶級LDK59蒸汽火車，今天上午現身花蓮後火車站，讓民眾免費搭乘體驗。

台鐵花蓮運務段長張建曆表示，LDK59蒸汽火車是1930年日據時代出廠至今，堪稱東部唯一活的文物。早期擔任花東線的運輸重任，曾經叱吒風雲一時。

30年前退役的老火車至今還能行駛，張建曆說，要歸功於機務段6位同仁，他們費心維修保養，才讓老火車風采依舊。

張建曆指出，LDK59蒸汽火車掛有4節車廂，可搭載176人，其中一節車廂內全是檜木材質，相當珍貴，乘客坐在車廂內還能聞到淡淡檜木味。

另外，花蓮後車站還安排「電氣路牌閉塞器」操作體驗，這是還未號誌自動化時代，兩車站間通行的安全令牌，也吸引不少鐵道迷圍觀拍照。
