求助共用牆壁的問題

我家是20幾年的2樓老透天
之前都室出租給別人住
鄰居於10幾年前加蓋3樓但我們沒蓋
現在我們搬進去住，也加蓋了3樓

問題來了~
鄰居當初加蓋3樓的時候共用牆壁疊了八吋使用了4吋
(當初的師父都說8吋才會穩固)
另外4吋蓋在我們家的土地上
現在我們加蓋3樓直接使用了這4吋牆蓋上去
加蓋時沒跟鄰居談好補償費

鄰居開口要8萬塊
我們只願意付1萬8(大概推估一面牆壁的費用<磚頭.水泥.工錢>)
有請建商估價~建商說補貼個6千就好= =

跟鄰居沒共視的情形下
準備進調解委員會調解~

請問有什麼說法可以站的住腳只付一面牆壁的費用
而不是任由對方獅子大開口
