對抗暖化 生質燃料未必較優秀

（中央社華盛頓2014年4月21日綜合外電報導）研究顯示，短期來說，玉米收成後廢棄部分製成的生質燃料，比汽油更不利於抑制全球暖化，挑戰歐巴馬政府指稱生質燃料為更乾淨的能源替代品，和能夠協助對抗氣候變遷的說法。

美聯社報導，研究結果顯示，玉米殘渣製造的生質燃料，在頭幾年釋放出的溫室效應氣體，比傳統石油多出7%。

這項由美國聯邦政府資助、耗費50萬美元的研究刊登在「自然氣候變遷」月報（Nature Climate Change）。

儘管長期而言，生質燃料優於傳統石油，但仍無法達成美國政府在2007年實施能源法所訂的標準。

美國聯邦政府斥資超過10億美元推廣生質燃料，這項研究結果無疑是個打擊。

目前市場上大約半數生質燃料是從玉米殘渣粹取而來。
