南韓擔心對中國大陸投資不足

南韓貿易協會 (KITA)指出，南韓企業在中國大陸的投資落後日本，因此南韓企業在大陸消費市場可能被日本競爭者擊敗，尤其是流通及服務業。

KITA指出，2004 -13年間日本在中國大陸投資額為529億美元，南韓為361.5億美元。日本約是南韓的1.5倍；「去年南韓企業的投資額占中國外人直接投資總額的比例，已由2004年時的10.3%，下降到2.6%。」

日本從2005年開始超越南韓。2011-13年日本對中國投資明顯增加，總額為207.4億美元，遠超過南韓的85.4億美元。

南韓企業在大陸的投資較集中於製造業，日本則選擇流通業及服務業。日本聚焦於消費市場，而大陸消費市場未來可能出現爆發性的成長；如果投資差距持續擴大，南韓可能喪失在消費市場的占有率。
