中華科技大學至正樓三樓濃煙不斷竄出，校方雖然有先以滅火器試圖撲滅，無奈火勢仍在教室天花板夾層內悶燒。今午12時許在校內至正樓3樓307教室發生火警，警消趕抵後延著每間教室破壞天花板搜尋起火點，經過近90分鐘才將火勢完全撲滅。

中華科技大學主秘傅敬群表示，當時正值下課用餐時間，所以生物科技系307教室內並無老師與學生，且這間教室僅為一般上課用途，沒有任何危險化學物質，雖然發現濃煙時有以滅火器搶救，最後仍徒勞無功。

警消大批人員抵達後發現，濃煙不斷從教室內天花板竄出，更延燒至鄰近教室，因此以破壞器材擊破天花板，經過90分鐘後終於找到延燒火點撲滅。（余思維、葉郁甫／台北報導）

保安當局上月在香港機場測試內部保安，派出人員扮演「臥底旅客」，並將刀具放進手提行李通過X光機檢查，但負責的檢查員竟疑因玩手機，未能發現違禁品，令致命武器成功入侵機場禁區，令安檢出現缺口。機場保安公司證實，三名檢查員及一名保安隊長遭處分，其中兩人接獲革職警告信，據悉，即半年內再違紀或遭革職。

保安部門於上月27日突擊測試X光檢查員發現違禁品的能力，分別派員並喬裝不同旅客，其中有人在手提行李放入刀具，然後經機場客運大樓七樓南面離境大堂過X光機，結果坐在X光影像屏幕前的檢查員，未能察覺行李有異常，令刀具輕易過關流入禁區。有傳出事原因是涉事檢查員當時正用手機玩遊戲，事後連累同隊人員全被處分，令同袍感不公平，有人更稱不少檢查員都有玩手機，只是管理層「睜隻眼閉隻眼」，憂慮終有一天會釀成航空大災難。

據了解，測試人員為查找利刀「過關」原因，曾翻看閉路電視片段，證實檢查員只注視抬面上的手機，根本無留意X光影像；但另有消息人士透露，該名檢查員只承認有用手機處理私務「Check一下」，但否認「打機」。

由於香港機場繁忙聞名於國際，港府極為重視保安措施，經常不定時派出特警及保安人員扮旅客測試機場內各項保安工作。

機場保安公司發言人證實，部門管理層在檢討該宗不成功通過測試的個案時，察覺檢查員因在執行安檢工作時使用手提電話，導致未能全神貫注工作，偵察出手提包內的刀具，他疏忽職守，連同管理不善的保安隊長，同被發出革職警告信；另兩名檢查員亦因不當使用手機，被施予書面警告紀律處分。

機場離境大堂的安檢，可說是確保航班安全的第一道防線，否則違禁品成功過關，隨時引致恐怖襲擊、劫機等事故，雖然香港的恐襲風險一直維持中度，且未曾發生過恐襲，但恪守這道防線的機場保安責任重大，事實上，機場保安有限公司近年在旅客身上或其隨身行李檢獲的違禁品，每年多達33萬件，包括鐵蓮花、催淚噴霧以至電槍等。
